WATCH: Amy Schumer Confronts Gun Violence a la Home Shopping Network
In this exclusive clip, Schumer sells “your run-of-the-mill, meat and potatoes hand gun” alongside of Steve Irwin commemorative coins with the same vigor as Jennifer Lawrence in Joy. A convicted felon and a suspected terrorist on the no-fly list place their orders before a mass shooting alert goes live, and before the telethon takes a turn for the worse.
Schumer recalled the emotional day when she found out about the Trainwreck movie theater shooting in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. “I was by myself in a hotel,” said the comedienne, “I was just like, I wish I never wrote that movie.”
Schumer has since teamed up with her distant cousin, New York Senator Chuck Schumer, to build initiatives for gun control in a campaign called Aiming For Change. She opens up a conversation with Brina Milikowsky, chief strategy officer at Everytown for Gun Safety, later in the episode. Catch it when it airs on Comedy Central tonight (Apr. 28) at 10 p.m. EST.
