Patton Oswalt Pays Tribute to Late Wife Michelle McNamara

Patton Oswalt's Wife, Michelle McNamara, Dies at 46
The True Crime Diary founder passed away unexpectedly in her sleep.

Patton Oswalt is in mourning.

A week after his wife, Michelle McNamara, passed away in her sleep at the age of 46, the comedian is paying tribute to his beloved with a sweet message.

On Friday (Apr. 29, 2016), the 47-year-old broke his silence and encouraged fans to make a donation to 826LA, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students with a passion of writing, in her honor. He tweeted, “She wrote lines that stung & hummed. 13 years in her presence was happily humbling.”

McNamara, who earned a degree in creative writing from the University of Notre Dame, had a passion for crime stories and started True Crime Diary to blog old cases. She also appeared on the Investigation Discovery series A Crime to Remember.

McNamara and Oswalt share a seven year-old daughter named Alice. They couple were married in 2005.

Oswalt’s publicist released a statement last week saying McNamara’s death was “a complete shock to her family and friends, who loved her dearly.” Currently, no cause of death has been given.
