Met Gala 2016: Taylor Swift’s Fashion Evolution
Swift and Idris Elba are co-chairing this year’s event. They are working alongside Vogue editor-in-cheif Anna Wintour to put together the fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
The Met Gala’s theme this year is “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” and will focus on how technology is influencing the newest wave of fashion, and according to Vogue, will symbolize and display the meeting of haute couture and machine made fashion.
Eyes have been on Swift’s ‘style’ since she first came to the music scene in 2006 at 15 years old. Back then, she rocked long blonde curls, flowy dresses, cowboy boots and a rhinestone guitar. She was 100% country.
Swift’s music has evolved into a pop sound, and so has her wardrobe. In 2014 she traded in her curls for a blunt bob, and her cowboy boots for stilettos. She loves edgy jumpsuits and cropped dresses, and adopted a signature red lip.
Her latest fashion statement is a change in hair color. She debuted her bleach-blonde bob at Coachella, and it has everyone talking.
So what will Taylor wear as co-chair of the Met Gala? We can’t wait to find out!
