Jared Leto Has Some Valuable Advice for Young Entrepreneurs and Investors

Jared Leto Finally Chats About Playing the Joker for 'Suicide Squad'
The Oscar-winner spoke about the challenge of reinventing the iconic villain.

Jared Leto may play the Joker in Suicide Squad, but his business portfolio is no laughing matter.

So what’s his secret? “Get really good at saying no,” the Oscar-winner stated on CNBC’s Squawk Box.

The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman explained that how you spend your time has everything to do with the success you find, whether it’s in business or the creative arts.

“You have to be really good with your time. You have to be incredibly focused on what’s important, what the priorities are.”

While on the show, the 44-year-old also revealed that he’s been a tech investor for approximately ten years, having invested in more than 50 startups, including the ride-sharing service Uber and the home rental platform Airbnb.

“I would say almost every investment I made I’ve been incredibly proactive, really aggressive.”

Leto also said he narrowly missed out on investing in coveted companies like the virtual reality startup Oculus, even admitting that he met with the Instagram team just four days before they were purchased by Facebook for $1 billion. “They were looking around and giggling. And I said, ‘What’s so funny?'”

Suicide Squad arrives in theaters August 5, 2016.
