George Clooney and Wife Amal Shine at Cannes Premiere of ‘Money Monster’
Seriously, these two are too gorgeous for words.
Wearing a cream-colored, Grecian-style dress, Amal looked stunning next to her dapper husband, as the two shared loving glances at one another.
Clooney also showed a fair amount of fun-loving chemistry with his Money Monster co-star, Julia Roberts, whose mega-watt smile light up the red carpet. Also in attendance were co-stars Dominic West, Jack O’Connell and director Jodie Foster.
Money Monster focuses on a disgruntled investor named Kyle (O’Connell), who takes Lee Gates (Clooney), the host of a financial show, hostage on air. Kyle holds Gates responsible for a bad stock tip that lost him his entire savings when the company he invested in inexplicably “loses” $800 million in one day, due to a “glitch” in the system. Roberts plays the show’s producer who tries to keep her staff alive, while also trying to investigate what really happened. West plays the company’s shady CEO.
The film is another solid effort from director Foster, who takes her time between projects but usually picks well for herself. Monster is a tight, concise thriller that keeps you on the edge, while making a statement about greedy Wall Streeters, the media and their accountability.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, O’Connell joked at the film’s Cannes press conference on Wednesday, “I learned that I’d be holding George Clooney hostage and would be going after Dominic West with a gun, bomb vest and detonation that I would yield. And I thought that was well within my capabilities.”
Money Monster hits U.S. theaters this Friday.
