Hayden Panettiere Checks Back into Rehab for Post-Partum Depression

Hayden Panettiere is taking the time to “reflect holistically” on her health and life in light of her post-partum depression.

The 26-year-old actress posted a message to Twitter informing fans of her battle, on the same day that her TV show Nashville was cancelled.

She wrote, “The postpartum depression I have been experiencing has impacted every aspect of my life. Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!”

Panettiere and her fiancé Wladimir Klitschko welcomed their daughter Kaya back in December 2014. The actress has been very vocal about her struggle with postpartum depression in the past, and first sought treatment back in October 2015.

During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Michael, Panettiere commented:

When [you’re told] about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child’ — I’ve never, ever had those feelings. Some women do. But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.
