A Harley Quinn Movie Starring Margot Robbie Is in the Works
In the words of M.I.A.: “Live fast. Die young. Bad girls do it well.”
Even though Suicide Squad has yet to be released, word has it that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn character will be making another appearance in another flick soon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is planning to have Robbie reprise her role as the villainess in an untitled spinoff centered around the female heroes and villains from the DC Comics universe. Though no details have been confirmed, it’s said that Batgirl and the ladies of Birds of Prey — perhaps Barbara Gordon and Black Canary — are being considered for the ensemble.
Sources say Robbie was the one who first brought on the unnamed screenwriter, who is rumored to be a woman, attached to develop the project to Warner Bros.
“She doesn’t even have superpowers,” Robbi recently told Vogue about her character. “She’s just a psychopath who runs around gleefully killing people—she finds joy in causing mayhem, which makes her weirdly endearing and fun to watch.”
