Mariah Carey’s 5 Shadiest Moments on ‘WWHL’
The “I don’t know her” saga continues.
Last night (May. 17, 2016), Mariah Carey made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and she made sure she brought the signature shade we’ve come to know and love. The entire episode is shady as hell and makes for amazing television, but since you might not have an hour to spare, we’ve rounded up the singer’s top five shadiest moments from last night.
1. She Showed Up Late.
In true diva fashion, Carey took her time arriving at the show despite the fact that it tapes live. While the singer calmly sipped champagne (because there is no way she was concerned about her lateness), host Andy Cohen tried to pass the time by preparing his guests for Carey’s impending arrival.
2. She Made Andy Cohen Switch Seats.
When Carey finally arrived she made Cohen abandon his host chair so that she could sit on the left side of the stage to make sure the cameras got her “good side.”
3. “I don’t know her,” part 5.
You’d think as many times as people have asked the singer about Jennifer Lopez she would know her by now, but nope. When asked about her shady declaration, Carey blamed it on her faulty memory. “You know what, I’m very forgetful,” Carey insisted. “Apparently I’m forgetful because I don’t remember the fact that it was just like, ‘Hi, I’m so-and-so,’ and then move on.” The singer insisted she “of course” knows who Lopez is, but has never spent time with her.
4. She Brought Up Old Shade.
During Carey’s last appearance on WWHL, she was asked to say three nice things rumored ex Eminem and of course gave the shadiest of responses. When Cohen reminded her of the question before asking her to do the same for Nicki Minaj, Carey couldn’t help relive her epic answer. “And I told you, they were chocolate, they’re different colors, and they’re really good.”
5. She Had Nothing Nice to Say About Minaj, So She Said Nothing At All.
When asked if she could say three nice things about her former American Idol co-host the singer responded with a long awkward silence before asking Cohen, “can you?” When the host said he could say three nice things about the rapper, Carey insisted that while she didn’t want to plead the fifth, she wanted to “stay above the fray.” “Because you don’t want to be déclassé. You just want to move it along.”
