Will Jennifer Lawrence Continue Playing Mystique in Future ‘X-Men’ Movies?
She does hate that blue body paint, so, um…
Jennifer Lawrence still hasn’t made up her mind if she’s going to sign on to play her alter X-Men ego Mystique in future movies, and she said “Fox should be terrified.”
Lawrence’s three-picture deal with 20th Century Fox ends with the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse – along with James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult – and she talked with Entertainment Weekly about her future in the franchise.
“Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking,” Jen said, “Like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back, if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are.”
There’s a time factor now that the Oscar winner is in high demand. “I would love to come back,” admitted Lawrence. “I love the fans and I love the character. But then you realize how important your year is, like how important three months out of your year is. I don’t know. I shouldn’t be that honest.”
The actress has also made it clear in several interviews how much she hates being painted blue to play the shape-shifting mutant. “You go in and you realize you’re rock bottom and like this sucks and it could not suck more,” she told EW.
Well, future X-Men movies would suck even more without Lawrence and the rest, if we’re being honest, so Fox better think of something good to keep the whole cast.
