Angelina Jolie Will Be a Visiting Professor in London Next Year
The actress, writer, director, producer, humanitarian and mother of six has got herself another title…professor!
In what will undoubtedly be the most popular class in the history of higher education, Angelina Jolie has announced that she be a visiting professor at London’s School of Economics next year, the Guardian reports.
The 40-year-old actress will be teaching a course on women, peace and security through the school’s Centre for Women, Peace and Security, which she and Britain’s former foreign secretary William Hague started in 2015. The course aims to “[develop] strategies to promote gender equality and enhance women’s economic, social and political participation and security.”
“It is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict,” Jolie, said via the Guardian. “I am looking forward to teaching and to learning from the students, as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the United Nations.”
Enrollment for the course starts in the fall and we’re predicting a stampede!
