WATCH: Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande Duet ‘Dangerous Woman’ on ‘The Voice’
Two powerhouses, one stage.
Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande teamed up last night (May 24) for The Voice finale, where they delivered a powerful duet of Ariana’s new song “Dangerous Woman,” the titular track from her newest album.
Ariana kicked things off with a solo performance of her new single “Into You,” for which she released the music video yesterday.
Afterwards, she began singing “Dangerous Woman” and Christina joined her onstage halfway through.
The “Genie in a Bottle” singer was previously scheduled to perform with a hologram of Whitney Houston, but the late singer’s estate ultimately decided to cancel because the technology was not yet “perfect.” Leaked footage of their performance, however, can be seen here.
Aguilera was ultimately the winning coach on this season of The Voice, as her mentee Alisan Porter won first place in the competition.
On being the first female coach to win in The Voice’s entire 10 season history, Aguilera told Us Weekly after the show:
It’s been a boys club since season one and I’m not one that hides my feelings or my opinions. But I just have to say what it really proves to me this season by her taking that stage as a hardworking mom, with this gorgeous voice, because there are double standards out there and sometimes it’s not all fair, but tonight is a true victory for women and women that work hard and women that are mothers.
Wildest dreams DO come true! Follow your heart. Never give up. NEVER let anyone tell you you can’t. You CAN. I walked through so many fears. All of my fears. Thank you to every single person who picked up a phone and voted or went to a computer and downloaded songs. I am forever indebted to you ALL! I love you and I will make you proud! All my love. ALL MY LOVE!!!!!!!!! ❤️
