Twelve shows were given the axe yesterday, including Castle and Nashville.

Last night the ABC show Nashville aired its series finale, and viewers were not prepared! After the network shockingly revealed last week the hit series was coming to an end, many fans wondered how they would wrap up the show’s many storylines. Most of the characters got a happy ending, but just as Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panetierre) was about to reunite with her ex-husband Avery Barkley (Jonathan Jackson) the airplane she was on disappeared. Yes, disappeared! Is Juliette dead? Is she safe? Will anyone hear from her again?!?!?

Before you succumb to the idea that the mystery of Juliette will eat you up forever, apparently the ending was a strategic move by the show’s producers. According to TV Line, two endings were filmed, the alternate ending showed Juliette safe and sound reunited with Avery. But the producers decided to go with the cliffhanger with the hopes that fans would want to know what happened so bad, it would help the show get picked up for another season on a different platform.

Well, it looks like the move may have worked because there’s already one network that seems interested in making that happen. After the finale aired, Lionsgate TV tweeted a message about the show with the hashtag “#BringBackNashville.”
