Report: Vanessa Paradis Comes to Ex Johnny Depp’s Defense
“He has never been physically abusive with me.”
Model/actress Vanessa Paradis, who had a 14-year relationship with Johnny Depp, reportedly wrote a note supporting her ex in the wake of domestic abuse allegations by Depp’s estranged wife Amber Heard.
According to TMZ, who obtained the handwritten letter, Paradis wrote that Depp is a “sensitive, loving and loved person” and “these recent allegations being made are outrageous.”
She added, “In all these years I have known Johnny he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years.” Paradis reportedly signed and dated the letter in Los Angeles on Friday.
Paradis and Depp were together from 1998 to 2012, and have two children together – daughter Lily-Rose Depp, 17, and son Jack, 14.
Lily-Rose also supported her father with a sweet Instagram post of Depp with her as a baby. The 17-year-old wrote, “My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same.”
Heard, who had filed for divorce earlier in the week, dropped the domestic abuse bombshell in an L.A. court on Friday when she filed for a temporary restraining order, which she was granted.
She submitted photos of bruises on her face that she claimed in the docs resulted from the actor shoving an iPhone in her face during an incident on May 21.
In response to Heard’s request for a temporary restraining order, Depp’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, said that Heard is “attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.”
Wasser wrote in the legal filing, “Her current application for a temporary restraining order along with her financial requests appears to be in response to the negative media attention she received earlier this week after filing for divorce. Yet Johnny cannot protect himself or Amber from media scrutiny, and Amber’s anger certainly cannot drive this dissolution proceeding.”
Meanwhile, Depp performed with his band, the Hollywood Vampires, in Portugal this weekend.
