Katy Perry’s Twitter Account Was Hacked and All That We Got Was a Taylor Swift Shoutout (Maybe a New Song, Too)

Try harder, hackers.

An unidentified nerd with a mouth that needs cleansing compromised Katy Perrys Twitter account on Monday, May 30 and sent out a handful of since-deleted profanity-laden tweets. The most entertaining of the collection was a direct mention to frenemy Taylor Swift that said, “miss u baby @taylorswift13.”

A Twitter spokesperson relayed in a statement, “We do not comment on individual accounts for privacy and security reasons.”

Though the hacker’s identity has yet to be revealed, speculation points to a serial Twitter prankster with the handle @sw4ylol who posted a tweet asking “Who TF is Katy Perry” followed by a link to SoundCloud with Perry’s supposed new song called “Witness 1.3″. The track has since been removed due to a copyright claim from Universal Music Group.

Perry’s Twitter account is the most-followed on the platform with a tally of 89 million followers.
