Prince’s Cause of Death Revealed
Officials have reportedly determined Prince’s cause of death.
The “Purple Rain” singer, who was found dead at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota on April 21, died of an overdose, according to the Associated Press. A law enforcement officer, speaking on the condition of anonymity, tells the publication that tests show Prince had passed away from an opioid overdose.
Prince autopsy was performed the same day of his death. At the time, the coroner revealed that the music icon had no signs of trauma on his body when he was found in the elevator of his home. There were also nothing on his body that indicated any sign of suicide.
Just days before his death, Prince had overdosed on Percocet that caused his plane to make an emergency landing at Quad City International Airport in Moline, Ill. He allegedly began taking highly-addictive painkillers for a hip problem, for which he had corrective surgery in 2010, and a “save shot” had to be administered.
Prince was 57 and did not leave a will when he died.
