Amber Heard Reportedly Arrested for Domestic Abuse in Past Relationship, Friend and Witness Comes to Her Defense

Heard’s friend is tired of the “victim shaming.”

Reports from law enforcement sources and documents show that Amber Heard, who alleges that she is a victim of Johnny Depp’s repeated domestic abuse, was previously arrested for committing domestic violence against her then-partner, Tasya van Ree, back in 2009. TMZ reports that Heard and van Ree got into an argument on September 14 of that year at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

“Amber was arrested and booked for misdemeanor domestic violence,” says TMZ. “Her mug shot was taken and she appeared in court the following day.”

The tabloid obtained the audio of the court hearing wherein the prosecutor declined to further the case due to Heard and van Ree’s residencies in California, but the judge said that the prosecutor could reconsider and refile within the 2-year statute of limitations.

Yesterday, Heard’s friend iO Tillet Wright spoke out against another TMZ report that claimed that Heard did not show any facial injuries after the alleged attack by Depp.

Wright asserts that she was a “witness” of the scene in question and that “this culture of victim blaming makes me sick.”
