Here’s Why Demi Lovato Will Never Respond to Those Bisexual Rumors

Did Demi Lovato Just Come Out as Bisexual?
Demi Lovato may have gotten to taste that cherry after all.

Demi Lovato isn’t going to let other people define who she loves.

When it comes to her sexuality, the “Confident” singer says it’s pretty “safe to say” she doesn’t like putting a label on things. While her “I Kissed a Girl” ripoff same-sex flirtation lyrics in “Cool for the Summer” sparked rumors that she’s bisexual, Lovato, who recently split from boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama after six years of dating, believes love shouldn’t be so black-and-white with clear lines of definition.

“It’s something I don’t think needs to have a label: As humans, It’s just about a connection with someone,” she tells People.

As a longtime advocate for LGBT community, the 23-year-old also called the “Bathroom Bill” enacted in some states unfair and unjust. Lovato and tour mate Nick Jonas have since canceled their Future Now Tour dates in North Carolina to show their opposition to the HB2 law, which prevents transgender individuals from using public restrooms that match their gender identity.

“It’s something I’m passionate about because I get it; I grew up in Texas. Being different in Texas or in the South in general, you can be judged,” she explains. “I grew up in a home where there was absolutely nothing wrong with somebody identifying as another sex or liking the same sex. People will say, ‘Thank you so much for all that you do.’ And my response is: It’s just something that people should already be doing.”

Celebrities like Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen have also either called off their tours dates in North Carolina or issued statements ahead of performing.
