J.K. Simmons Is Jacked AF These Days
Do you even lift, bro?
J.K. Simmons is proving to all of us that you can get buff at any age after his trainer, Aaron Williamson, shared a photo of the Oscar winner looking jacked AF while working out at the gym. In the picture, the 61-year-old — yes, 61 — is seen with massive bulging biceps as he lifts two heavy weights.
Though not confirmed, Simmons is rumored to be getting in shape for his role of Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming Justice League movie. (But let’s face, he’s approaching more Tom Hardy/Bane levels in these pictures.)
“When you look at him in the gym people are literally doing double-takes. They can’t believe that’s him. He’s doing such a good job of being disciplined and staying dedicated to doing something he hasn’t done before with his physique,” Williamson, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound Marine-turned-trainer, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s ripped. He’s more shredded than I am.”
According to Williamson, Simmons trains two to three times a week at various Gold’s Gym locations around Los Angeles. The actor is said to be on a diet “a lot of low-carb stuff, lean proteins, a lot of vegetables.”
“Every day might be a little different for him. He eats every three hours,” Williamson says. “What he calls his ‘secret weapon’ is a little piece of dark chocolate. He eats one square every day.”
“Whenever we go out for lunch he’ll pull one out for me,” he adds of Simmons. “He’s literally the nicest guy I’ve met in L.A. — the most down-to-earth genuine guy you can possibly be around. I know it’s cliche to say about someone ‘giving you the shirt of their back,’ but that’s what he is.”
Heart of gold and a body of steel.
