This Is What It Looked Like When the New and Old ‘Ghostbusters’ Casts United for a Photo

A monumental moment in Ghostbusters Day history.

The cast of the original Ghostbusters movie and the cast of its reboot reunited in an epic photo ahead of their joint appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Director Paul Feig shared the photo of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones alongside Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts on the anniversary of the first film’s release.

Feig later shared that Sigourney Weaver was not in the photo because she was working on a movie in London at the time.

The director likened the two-cast summit on Kimmel, airing Wednesday (Jun. 8), to “being in the presence of the comedy gods on Mount Olympus,” in a statement to USA Today. “This is an epic summit of some of the funniest people on the planet,” he said. “Long live the Ghostbusters!”

Ghostbusters’ all-female cast landed the cover of ELLE magazine for the Women in Comedy issue. “I get so psychotically attached to all of my characters, and I fight for them in probably the most annoying way,” McCarthy issued in regards to her role in the comedy. Launch the gallery at the top of the page to view photos from their spread.
