WATCH: And Now, Here’s a Teenage Drake Performing Improv

This is straight from Drake’s Degrassi-era.

Before he became the Champagne Papi, 6God and sensitive yet studly rapper we know and love today, Drake was just a teen, putting himself out there on a stage, trying his hand at improv.

Video footage of a cute, young Drake doing improv at Toronto’s Rivoli Theater has surfaced thanks to a new CBC feature on the historic performance space from the rapper’s hometown.

The 3-minute clip is just long enough to bring to mind Drake’s past alter-ego Jimmy Brooks (who he played on Degrassi: The Next Generation from 2001 until 2009), as he and a scene partner do a skit in which he’s in the process of coming out.

Nowadays, the 29-year-old is a bit of a natural when it comes to comedy, evident from his recent Saturday Night Live stint not to mention his recent “Hotline Bling”-themed T-Mobile commercial.

But everyone has to start somewhere. Watch his adorableness in the video below:
