He’s all that.
Following the footsteps of so many before him, Freddie Prinze Jr. can now add “cookbook author” to his resume. That’s right, the ’90s heartthrob who starred in teen-centric flicks such as She’s All That, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Down to You, is now teaching people how to cook as his latest venture, Back to the Kitchen: 75 Delicious, Real Recipes (& True Stories) From a Food-Obsessed Actor, has been released.
Cute forward written by wife Sarah Michelle Gellar aside; the book is packed with recipes developed by the actor, who had ambitions to attend culinary school before scoring his first onscreen gig. The dishes included in his cookbook? Try marinated skirt steak with cherry tomato and avocado salsa or New Mexico style eggs, served with from-scratch biscuits and green chile gravy.
According to Prinze, food plays a huge part in his home life — and may be that’s why he’s been happily married to Gellar for almost 14 years.
“I cook and clean,” he recently told Huffington Post. “Fellas, if you cook and clean, at the end of the night, when you’re ready for what you’re ready for, there’s no, ‘Ah, I’m too tired babe. I just can’t do it.’ You cook and clean, you want to watch the game after? She says yes. You want to play Grand Theft Auto online? She says, ‘Yeah, why don’t you play Grand Theft Auto.’ And if you want some loving, she always says yes.”
“They say the secret to getting a man is through his stomach. That’s not true, it’s a little further south,” he continued. “For a woman, it’s the stomach. If you can feed ‘em, you’re good to go.”
Watch him recall how eating Chicken Piccata once led to him saving a man pal Chris Klein threw into a river — below.
