James Corden Wants to Bring ‘Carpool Karaoke’ to the Tonys

'Hamilton' Star Lin-Manuel Miranda Does 'Carpool Karaoke'
Behold: the Broadway themed "Carpool Karaoke" we've all been waiting for!

Where’s our invite?

James Corden wants to give all of us the biggest case of #FOMO ever by bringing his successful Carpool Karaoke series to this Sunday’s Tony Awards.

Speaking with Seth Meyers on Late NightThe Late Late Show host, who is hosting the award show, revealed that he’s thinking of setting up a karaoke machine at the star-studded ceremony to keep people entertained during commercial breaks. Though there wouldn’t be a car (hence why it’s probably not going to be an actual Carpool Karaoke special), he said it could be a good way to get all the celebrities — guests and nominees — to get involved with the show.

“I thought, ‘Why don’t we have a big, sort of karaoke-type sing-along in the Beacon Theater?’ Because there’s all these incredibly talented people in there,” he mused. “So I might go out and give them some drinks and then see if I can get, like, Barbra Streisand to sing something.”

It’s not like Corden hasn’t been able to convince stars to let loose before. According to him in the latest video for Vogue’s “73 Questions” series, his favorite Carpool Karaoke moment of all-time was when he got Stevie Wonder call his wife from their car.
