This Is How Marriage Has Changed Lauren Conrad

Spencer Pratt: Jason Wahler Tried to Sell Lauren Conrad's Sex Tape
A Lauren Conrad sex tape does exist, according to Spencer Pratt.

It’s about compromising.

It’s been almost two years since Lauren Conrad got married to former Something Corporate guitarist William Tell, but The Hills alum is still learning lots about marriage. In her latest interview with Redbook, the 30-year-old opens up about her married life, explaining that there’ll always be some give-and-take within her relationship with her husband.

“I have a collection of teacups I display in my dining room. My husband doesn’t get why I love them so much. To be fair, I don’t share his passion for guitars,” she admits. “We each have our own things, and that’s healthy.”

“Now that I’m throwing parties with my husband, William, I have to keep in mind that he prefers—how do I say this—easier themes than what I’ve done in the past. He doesn’t like to feel that he’s asking friends to go out of their way,” she continues. “So now we do a birthday hoedown because everyone owns a pair of cutoffs and a plaid shirt. I’m learning how to compromise!”

Though her Instagram photos are always picture perfect, Conrad, whose home entertaining book Celebrate was released earlier this year, prefers that her parties are anything but flawless.

“I always try to make sure that the party I’m putting together isn’t perfect. Anything that looks too put-together is too fussy for me. If it feels fussy, then people might not be comfortable. A successful party is about comfort and making people feel welcome,” she says. “You can dream up the most beautiful table-scape and food, but at the end of the day, the most important thing is that you are having as much fun as your guests and enjoying each other’s company. The point is to celebrate — and that means everyone.”
