Anton Yelchin’s Official Cause of Death Revealed
Anton Yelchin’s cause of death has been determined as “blunt traumatic asphyxia,” according to investigators with the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The Star Trek actor’s death has been ruled as an accident, Lt. Larry Dietz told the Los Angeles Times. Authorities believe Yelchin, 27, did not properly put his car into park when he got out. It’s been said the vehicle then rolled backward down the steep driveway, pinning him against a brick column attached to a security gate.
Yelchin was found dead on Sunday at around 1 a.m. by friends at his San Fernando Valley home. At the time, authorities said, “the engine was running when his body was discovered, and the car was in neutral. The driveway was on a fairly steep incline.”
Since then, celebrities — including Yelchin’s Star Trek co-stars — have taken to social media to mourn and express their condolences.
