Go to Vampy Glam with LustreLux
Everyone loves a bold, dark lip, and Katy, aka LustreLux, is the go-to gal.
As we all know Katy can rock anything from no makeup to full out glam and still look flawless, as well as pull off the slick back Slytherin hair with ease, “#NO SHADE” In case you didn’t know who LustreLux is, you can find her all over YouTube and Snapchat slaying every look you can think of alongside the one and only John and Zo, or shall we say “Jonye” and “Susan.” Aside from the high key slayage, Katy is not only beautiful to look at, but she’s also a sarcastic, warm-hearted hottie who’s continuing to climb her way to the top.
A recent video she posted was the “Go to Glam with Dark Lip!” which completely caught my eye. Not only is this look simple and gorgeous, but it’s also easy to achieve. Using a variety of products ranging from affordable to high end, making it so easy to look so good. “I juuuussst” think you guys should check it out.
STEP #1: PRIME TIME
First is the GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD Tinglexfoliate Treatment, which she uses on her cheeks and any porous areas. Being an exfoliator, you leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash off in circular motions. This not only cleans all the excess dirt and dead skin but leaves your face soft and bright. She then applies the Hanalei Lip Treatment to help smooth, moisturize, and protect the lips.
She starts off by applying the Benefit Air Patrol Primer to her lids, which follows by setting the primer with a skin-tone eye shadow. She then starts with her crease color, Fawn by Anastasia Beverly Hills, which is a beautiful neutral and workable color for any look. Using a blending brush she makes a windshield wiper motion into her crease to apply the color, then blending it out with a fluffy brush. After the crease, she works her way onto the lid using Peach Smoothie by Makeup Geek. Next is the wing. Using the Inglot Gel Liner in black and adding some “Duraline” for easier application, she applies a wing with the Wet’n’Wild Angled Liner Brush. After winging it out she curls her lashes and puts on the Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint followed by the Shayla Flutter Lashes. Side note: Everyone has different eyes, ranging from all shapes and sizes. Sometimes lashes can be too long, or unfitting for the eye. You can always trim them to better fit you.
STEP #3: FACE
Using the Maybelline Matte and Poreless Foundation in #220, and blending it into her skin using a BeautyBlender Pro, she follows under the eyes with the Sephora Bright Future Concealer in “Custard.” To set the concealer she uses the RCMA No Color Powder, which is great for not only under the eyes but to set the whole face as well. Next comes the glow! Using the Sleek Makeup Precious Metals and Solstice highlighter palettes, she uses the cream from Precious Metals called Renaissance Gold followed by the powder Equinox from the Solstice palette. To warm up the face a bit she uses the Hikari Cosmetics Shimmer Bronzer in Radiate, lightly brushing it onto her cheeks. Contouring has been such a huge hit trend lately, ranging from numerous palettes and techniques. Using the MAC Sculpt Powder in Sculpt, she contours her cheekbones as well as her nose, followed by a cupids bow and nose highlight to give it that extra “oomf.” Lastly, she bronzes her forehead with the Girlactik Bronzer in Cabo with a big fluffy brush.
STEP #4: BACK TO EYES
After the face is done she goes back into the ABH Fawn eyeshadow dusting it onto the lower lash line with the Luxie 231 brush, then applying Galapagos by NARS to her lash line with a smaller brush. To brighten her eyes she used the NARS liner in Rue Bonaparte in the water line. Last but not least, mascara. Using Better Than Sex by Too Faced, she gives the advice “Gotta look up, gotta be focused, can’t let anybody talk to you. No shade”. For all who struggle with lower lash mascara, I feel you. Take Katy’s advice; YOU CAN DO IT!
STEP #5: LIPS!
To moisturize the lips she starts with the Peek Beauty Nom Nom Natural Lip Plumping Balm in Miracle, just making sure to keep the lips moisturized and ready for the matte lipstick. Starting with MAC’s Burgundy lip pencil, she lines the outside of her lips followed by the “Dark Vampy Lip.” Today’s pick of poison is Too Faced’s Drop Dead Red Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick.
You can always set your face with a setting spray to lock in your look as well as making sure all powders, concealers, and eyeshadows don’t absorb into your skin or melt off.
