The House Where Brittany Murphy Died Is on Sale for $18.4 Million
According to TMZ, the asking price went down by a million dollars from its original listing.
Standing at 9,400 square feet, the three-story residence has been completely since Murphy’s death in 2009. The estate, which is perched atop the Sunset Strip, boasts expensive touches and fixtures such as expertly crafted walnut floors and paneling, floor-to-ceiling sliding windows, Crestron smart home technology. The modern abode also features a state-of-the-art kitchen with Miele appliances, open living and dining rooms, a 2,000 square feet master suite accessible through a private elevator, two walk-in closets, his-and-hers bathrooms, a home theater, a massage room, and a wine cellar.
Outside, the property includes an infinity pool overlooking the Los Angeles skyline, a spa, a built-in barbecue area, and custom fire pit.
Murphy purchased the house from Britney Spears in 2003 for $3.85 million. She passed away in said home six years later from pneumonia and anemia at the age of 32.
On May 23, 2010, Murphy’s husband died in the master bedroom after suffering a heart attack. Coroner ruled that Monjack passed away also from acute pneumonia and severe anemia. He was 40.
Murphy’s mother, who was living with the couple until their deaths, put the place up for sale in 2010 to the tune of $7.25 million.
