Lena Dunham Defends Taylor Swift After Kanye West’s ‘Famous’ Music Video

Lena Dunham is defending BFF Taylor Swift.

Following Kanye West’s screening of “Famous,” which features nude wax figures of celebrities, like Amber Rose, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, and Donald Trump in bed together, few people have commented on the controversial music video. However, the Girls creator has decided to offer her thoughts on the matter despite the fact that she’s a fan of the Wests.

“The Famous video is one of the more disturbing ‘artistic’ efforts in recent memory,” she wrote in a lengthy Facebook post on Monday (June 27, 2016). “Now I have to see the prone, unconscious, waxy bodies of famous women, twisted like they’ve been drugged and chucked aside at a rager? It gives me such a sickening sense of dis-ease.”

“Seeing a woman I love like Taylor Swift (f–k that one hurt to look at, I couldn’t look), a woman I admire like Rihanna or Anna [Wintour], reduced to a pair of waxy breasts made by some special effects guy in the Valley, it makes me feel sad and unsafe and worried for the teenage girls who watch this and may not understand that grainy roving camera as the stuff of snuff films, she continued. “I hesitated a lot about saying anything cuz I figured the think pieces would come pouring in. But I didn’t see this angle being explored as much as I had hoped. It’s weird to feel like you’re watching alone. I bet I’m not.”

So far, the only people to comment on the rapper’s video is Chris Brown, Ray J, and George W. Bush who allegedly said he’s in much better shape than depicted.
