Mel B Says There Won’t Be a Spice Girls Reunion Until Next Year

Victoria Beckham Admits to Lip Syncing During Spice Girls Concerts
Maybe this is why there won't be a complete Spice Girls reunion tour any time soon

2016 marks 20 years since the world was blessed with the greatness that is the Spice Girls, but if you’ve been banking on a reunion tour later this year, don’t hold your breath. Mel B stopped by Live with Kelly Tuesday morning (June. 28, 2016), and explained why fans would have to wait just a little bit longer.

When host Kelly Ripa asked whether or not the Spice Girls were finally going to get back together for a reunion tour, Mel B explained it wasn’t so simple. “Well this is the thing,” she began, “it’s our 20th anniversary this year, this would be the perfect year, but, places get booked out this year.”

So basically she’s saying there aren’t enough venues for a reunion right now. And while that may sound like a cop-out (it definitely sounds like a cop-out) with Beyoncé, Adele, and Rihanna currently on world tours, it might not be too farfetched.

But before you totally give up on your Spice Girls dreams, a reunion isn’t totally out of the question. “So what we’ll hopefully do is planning on doing something to celebrate next year,” she continued. “But it’s something that we want to do and it would be nice to celebrate and give thanks to all the fans.”

It should be mentioned; Mel B has seemingly always been on board with a reunion and it’s been Victoria Beckham and even Mel C that has held up plans.
