Tim Tebow Leads Mid-Flight Prayer After Man Suffers Heart Attack on Plane
Tim Tebow tried to lend a helping hand this weekend end when he found himself in the middle of a medical emergency during a plane ride from Atlanta to Phoenix over the weekend.
The former NFL star reportedly started comforting the family of a man who started suffering heart problems by leading a prayer circle mid-flight. According to Richard Gotti, who was on the plane and wrote about the incident on Facebook on June 26, Tebow also stayed with the family and let them cry on his shoulder as airline staff and other passengers helped give the older gentleman CPR and an IV.
“The crew of Delta Airlines were amazing. They acted in a fast and professional manner! Then all of a sudden, I observed a guy walking down the aisle,” Gotti recalled. “That guy was Tim Tebow. He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder! I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation.”
Gotti also added, “The plane landed in Phoenix and that was the first time they got a pulse back!”
However, the Los Angeles Times is reporting that the unidentified man later died in the hospital.
“We can’t say enough about the Delta professionals who care for our customers every day and we are grateful to our customers who are so often quick to extend kindness and care to one another,” Delta spokesman Brian Kruse told Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He also confirmed that paramedics were waiting in Phoenix and immediately rushed the patient to the hospital for treatment.
Tebow has yet to comment on what happened.
