Caitlyn Jenner opens up about her rather conservative views in terms of the upcoming presidential election.
Jenner, who came out as a woman last year and is a Republican, hinted in a new interview with Stat that she thinks the Democratic party, and Democratic presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton herself, is a better choice for LGBT voters due to their history of supporting the transgender community.
I’m not excited with what [President Barack] Obama has done to the economy, to our Constitution, all that kind of stuff. But as far as the transgender community, they’ve actually been very good. Everybody looks at Democrats as being better with these issues.”
Trump seems to be very much for women. He seems very much behind the LGBT community because of what happened in North Carolina with the bathroom issue. He backed the LGBT community.
But in Trump’s case, there’s a lot more unknowns. With Hillary, you pretty much know what you’re gonna get with the LGBT community.
Jenner is not #ImWithHer, however. She said on an episode of I Am Cait back in March: “We’re done. If Hillary becomes president, the country is over.” She also called Clinton a “liar” and a “political hack.”
However, days later, she posted a photo of her posing with Clinton on Instagram, captioned “#learningfrommygirls #willingtolisten”:
Shortly after, Jenner said during an appearance on the Australian radio show Rove & Sam for Breakfast that she would be voting for the Republican candidate in November’s general election regardless of who it is.
