Roseanne Barr, the fiery star of the ‘90s sitcom Roseanne spoke with The Daily Beast about her documentary Roseanne for President!, she also discussed the allegations of sexual assault Bill Cosby currently faces and claimed modern comedy titan Louis C.K. has also victimized women over the years.
First, Barr merely hinted that a big name in comedy is “about to get busted.” But, soon after she revealed the celebrity’s name:
“It’s Louis C.K., locking the door and masturbating in front of women comics and writers. I can’t tell you—I’ve heard so many stories. Not just him, but a lot of them. And it’s just par for the course. It’s just shit women have to put up with.”
In a follow-up email, she defended the claims she made about the Louie star. “These allegations [against Louis C.K.] have been leveled and talked about for years. I do not have first-hand knowledge, though have heard women make these allegations.”
As for Cosby’s alleged misdeeds, the 63-year-old actress wasn’t shy with her opinion on this topic, either.
“I know several women who went through that with Bill [Cosby],” Barr said, adding that these are not among the women who have come forward. “Yeah. I know them. No, they didn’t ever come forward. I understand why they don’t. But I’ve known for a long, long time. Everyone knows.”
