Aubrey Plaza: I’m Bisexual

Aubrey Plaza: I Didn't Recognize Ryan Gosling
The actress Aubrey Plaza recalls missing her shot with Ryan Gosling.

Aubrey Plaza is opening up about her sexuality, revealing that she’s attracted to men and women.

Speaking with The Advocate, the Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates actress talks about her huge following in LGBT community. While looking back at her previous roles, including a lesbian character in Addicted to Fresno, Plaza explains what drew her to some of the queer roles on her resume.

“It was less about pretending to be a lesbian and more about portraying a human being with a massive crush on Natasha Lyonne’s character. Natasha’s a friend, and she called me up, like, ‘Do you want to come do a movie and make out with me?'” she says. “I have a major crush on her in real life, so it was fun.”

“I know I have an androgynous thing going on, and there’s something masculine about my energy,” Plaza continues. “Girls are into me — that’s no secret. Hey, I’m into them too. I fall in love with girls and guys. I can’t help it.”

In the same interview, Plaza also muses about her short “butch” experience on the set of She Said, She Said, saying, “Can’t we do a whole movie where I get to come on to Marisa Tomei?”

As for Grumpy Cat, who Plaza voices in the internet sensation’s debut movie, she says the viral feline is “definitely gay.”
