Enrique Iglesias’ Hand Is Still Messed Up One Year After Drone Accident

Enrique Iglesias is still not feeling 100 percent.

A little over a year since he sliced opened his hand on a drone while performing at a concert, the singer admits his digits have not quite fully healed from the accident yet. Speaking with Univision’s Primer Impacto, Iglesias recalls the incident that left him without feeling parts of his hand.

“To be honest with you, with all of the adrenaline I didn’t feel it much,” he remembers. “I was really surprised with the amount of blood I was losing.”

“I felt a bit of shame and embarrassment in front of my fans, especially with the crowd that was right in the very front,” he continues. “Every time I would move my hand, you could just see blood every where. And at that moment I didn’t realize how bad it was because I couldn’t feel pain. I felt pain after the surgery.”

At the time, Iglesias had tried to grab a flying drone out of the air during a show in Tijuana, Mexico. After severely cutting his hand open on its propellers, the 41-year-old insisted finishing up his performance. He played for another 30 minutes as his hand bled before he was rushed to an ambulance and put on a plane to Los Angeles for surgery.

“Really, what I did was a huge stupidity,” Iglesias adds.

“Honestly, I still can’t feel anything on this finger,” he admits. “I still can’t feel anything from the nail and below that.”
