At long last, the pop princess is getting her due.

Today (July 14, 2016), Canada’s Polaris Music Prize announced its short list of nominees, and everyone’s favorite pop musician Carly Rae Jepsen finally made the cut. Granted, lately the music landscape is packed with talent in Canada, although the likes of Drake and Justin Bieber were notably absent this go-round. But Jepson’s infectious brand of ear candy was destined for some Polaris love, especially for Emotion.

Other acts that made the short list include Grimes, White Lung, PUP, Jessy Lanza, Black Mountain, Kaytranada, U.S. Girls, Basia Bulat and Andy Shauf.

The ceremony takes place on Sept. 19, 2016. E-mo-tion!
