Lauren Graham Wants to ‘Retire’ from Acting After ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival

Lauren Graham thinks the forthcoming Gilmore Girls revival is so good that she’ll be content if it’s her last acting job. The actress, who will reprise her role as Lorelai in the new Netflix series, shares that she’s perfectly fine with the show closing out her acting career.

“If I could retire, I would just leave it here,” Graham tells Entertainment Tonight. “It was so gratifying and so fun… all those dynamics are the same, but even better.”

“It’s grown up a little bit, so to me, it’s my favorite thing I’ve ever done,” she continues. “And it will be satisfying to fans.”

Graham is also absolutely thrilled that co-star Melissa McCarthy has decided to return as well.

“This is a whole kind of off the charts talent that she has,” Graham says of the actress, who initially claimed she was not asked to make an appearance. Show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has since offered McCarthy a place on the revival, which she accepted.

Graham gushes, “To have her back on set… It was beautiful.”

A premiere date for the new episodes has yet to be announced. According to Netflix, the revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes centered around each season of the year.
