Milo Yiannopoulos has been permanently banned from Twitter after his abuse prompted Leslie Jones to leave the platform.

The Ghostbusters actress faced sexist and racist remarks on Twitter that were supposedly provoked by the blogger. In a statement, Twitter says they spotted an increase in accounts violating policies related to abuse and taken “enforcement actions” against them — starting with banning users like Yiannopoulos.

The tech editor, who’s been known to direct his followers to spew hate at his targets, released the following statement on the ban, according to Breitbart. “With the cowardly suspension of my account, Twitter has confirmed itself as a safe space for Muslim terrorists and Black Lives Matter extremists, but a no-go zone for conservatives,” he said.

Since the online abuse, Jones has received a ton of support from celebrities. The hashtag #LoveforLeslieJ trended on Twitter with fans, including Amy Schumer, Anna Kendrick, Chrissy Teigen, and more sending their support to the comedian.

Jones isn’t the only one who’s had a rough time on Twitter this week. Selena Gomez was slammed after defending Taylor Swift’s during her feud with Kimye.
