Amber Rose Is Team Kanye West in the Taylor Swift ‘Famous’ Feud
In a new sneak peek of an upcoming episode of The Amber Rose Show, the model throws her support for her ex-boyfriend. Though she’s been burned by West in the past, Rose believes the rapper did truly call up Swift to run his lyrics by her before releasing his song. After all, she argues, that she knows West and witnessed first-hand the backlash he received after he crashed the VMAs stage in 2009 during Swift’s acceptance speech.
“I’m not the biggest fan of Kanye,” Rose tells the audience. “But I will say this. I was next to him at the VMAs that year and I remember the repercussions after that and I remember Taylor’s mother and father coming up to us and saying, ‘One day, Kanye, you’re gonna have a daughter and someone’s gonna do that to you.'”
“And he was so remorseful,” she adds. “I mean, he really felt so bad because it wasn’t about Taylor. It was about Beyoncé and her video. We all know that Beyoncé should’ve won that, it’s no shade. He didn’t want to interrupt her moment, it really wasn’t about Taylor. He didn’t even know who she was at the time.”
Knowing that West and Swift made up after the incident, Rose says her former boyfriend would never risk reigniting the feud again by writing a diss track about Swift.
She explains, “He really went though a lot of bullshit, and I know that Kanye would never, ever go through that again by not calling Taylor and saying, ‘Heads up, I’m about to kinda go write this verse real quick. Just wanna make sure you’re cool with it.’ I know that about Kanye.”
However, Rose is a little peeved that West failed to call her when he decided to include a nude wax figure in her likeliness in his “Famous” music video.
“So, I say all of that to say, why didn’t I get a phone call for using a naked wax figure in your video Kanye?” Rose, who settled her own feud with West’s wife Kim Kardashian earlier this year, muses. “I mean, Taylor gets a call but I don’t get a call. So please stay the fuck out of the news so I don’t need to talk about your ass anymore.”
Though many have been rallying behind West, Swift’s supporters have also been speaking out. Uzo Aduba recently sang her praises for the “Bad Blood” singer. Meanwhile, squad staple Selena Gomez asked the world to spend time on “more important” matters and BFF Abigail Anderson attempted to deflect Swift’s backlash by “praying” for West’s daughter. The latter two eventually got dragged by Twitter for essentially being a hypocrite and bringing an innocent child into the feud, respectively.
