Margot Robbie Breaks Silence on ‘Weird’ and Sexist Vanity Fair Article

Margot Robbie Recalls 'Awkward' Sex Scene with Leonardo DiCaprio
While there are many blonde and leggy model-types out would love the chance to hop into bed with Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie isn't one of them

Margot Robbie responded to her recent August 2016 Vanity Fair profile, written by VF writer Rich Cohen, which was widely criticized as “sexist” and “outdated.

In an interview with Australia’s The Project, Robbie said, “I remember thinking, ‘That was a really odd interview. I don’t know how that’s going to come out.’ And then when I read it I was like, ‘Yeah, the tone of this is really weird.’ I don’t really know what he’s trying to get at or play at.”

In the VF article, Cohen seems to pay more attention to her beauty than her acting talent and called Robbie’s home country Australia a “throwback.”

The Internet went nuts over it, but the Legend of Tarzan star didn’t understand why everyone was so upset. “I didn’t expect there was going to be an uproar about it at all,” she explained. “But I’ve read far more offensive, far more sexist, insulting, derogatory, disgusting things on a daily basis. I don’t know, maybe I’m desensitized to it now.”

She did, however, appreciate how her fellow Aussies had her back. Robbie laughed, “I had, like, this bit of Aussie pride, where I was like, ‘Don’t mess with the Aussies.’ Don’t you mess with the Aussies. Look at what happens when you mess with Australia.”

Robbie will be seen next as Harley Quinn in the highly anticipated Suicide Squad… check out the latest trailer which premiered at Comic-Con this past weekend.
