Taylor Swift Has Been Gifted a Troll-Blocking Tool on Instagram

Instagram has reportedly granted Taylor Swift a “tool” that can remove negative or abusive comments that are posted in response to her photos.

The Times says that this batch troll filter, which will automatically delete negative, defamatory replies and/or emoji illustrations from Swift’s comments section, is a feature that is being tested by Instagram for “a number of high-volume accounts.”

“We’re always looking for ways to help people have a positive experience with comments on Instagram,” reads a statement from Instagram. “We’re currently focused on providing tools to improve accounts with the most high-volume comment threads, and we will use our learnings to continue to improve the comment experience on Instagram.”

This moderation privilege has been handed to Swift just after Kim Kardashian leaked footage on her Snapchat account that shows Swift and Kanye West discussing “Famous”, his song in which she is referenced as a “bitch” that he “still might have sex with, over the phone. Kardashian followed up on her receipt-issuing with tweet decked-out with snake emojis as a reference to Swift. This caused social media users to clog Swift’s Twitter mentions and the comments section of her Instagram account with the same emoji.
