So much new music is released each week that it’s impossible to hear it all. Not that you’d want to; a lot of it isn’t so hot. But let us help simplify your search for new sounds with a roundup of the week’s seven best new songs. Trust us. We have good taste. (And check out last week’s collection if your hunger has still not been sated.)

Major Lazer, Justin Bieber, and – “Cold Water”

Major Lazer teamed up with Justin Bieber and MØ for their new single “Cold Water, which was written by Benny Blanco and Ed Sheeran. The Caribbean-tinged synth track is bound to be a hit this summer and will surely get a slew of remixes, which will make it a club hit as well. While MØ doesn’t have a lot to do on the track (she doesn’t make an appearance on the track until two-thirds of the way through the song), she does add a much-needed grittiness to the song’s vibe. – Michael

Regina Spektor – “Bleeding Heart”

I have long been a Regina Spektor fan, though, admittedly, I have lost interest over the years. It’s partially that her last couple of albums didn’t manage to grab me, but also partially due to the fact that I outgrew some of the youthful whimsy that saturates her music. Cue my surprise when I found myself really enjoying her new single, “Bleeding Heart,” which immediately brought me back to my 2003/2004-era obsession. It’s still pretty twee, but she seems to have rediscovered the edge that made her so endearing to me and to many others. -Matt

Kehlani – “Distraction”

This song has a very distinct ’90s pop vibe, where I can imagine the music video featuring tight choreography juxtaposed with rippling banners, waving freely on a beach. It’s fortunate that wire chokers and nostalgia are “in” so that Kehlani’s late summer vibe can roll through accordingly. – Mia

Brand New – “Out of Range”

Though rumors continue to swirl that Brand New will disband in 2018, the emo quartet seem to be anything BUT ready for retirement. “Out of Range,” an old demo now reworked and released as a B-side, just proves they’ve still got it. Slow and hauntingly beautiful like Daisy’s “Handcuffs” or Deja Entendu’s “Play Crack the Sky”, the song is one that the band would normally save to close out an album. And like the two aforementioned album-enders, this new track just leaves you wanting more. (Seriously. Please don’t break up, you guys.) – Gabi

Wild Beasts – “Tough Guy”

I have already told you not once, not twice, but thrice that the new Wild Beasts album is shaping up to be something really special. Today, a week ahead of the album’s release, let me tell you one more time: Boy King is going to be good! “Tough Guy” is the latest pre-album single shared by the band, and, in my opinion, it is the best one yet. It easily marries with their funkier new direction with their classic sound, and it is, bottom line, a jam. – Matt
