Bella Hadid Gushes Over Romance with The Weeknd: ‘I Really Love’ Him

Bella Hadid Goes Topless
Bella Hadid is stripping down for fashion's sake.

Bella Hadid loves Abel, not The Weeknd.

The model graces the cover of Glamour’s September issue, where she opens up about her relationship and her on-going struggle with Lyme disease. She also defends her sister Gigi and Kendall Jenner’s modeling careers after Stephanie Seymour’s recent “bitches of the moment” jab.

“I’m dating Abel. I don’t see him as The Weeknd. I’m proud of The Weeknd and the music he makes, but I really love Abel,” Bella, 19, said when asked what it’s like to date the singer.

The couple, who have been together since May 2015, made their red carpet debut at the 2016 Grammys in February. “It was a big night for him. He has worked so hard, and he did so well that night. As a girlfriend I wanted to be there to support him,” she added.

“People are really mean about it,” Bella explained when asked how about she deals with living with Lyme disease. “They always say that I don’t have what I have — but it’s taken a toll on my life since I was 15. I’ll occasionally get comments now like, ‘How do you have this disease if you’re working every day?’ But I didn’t want it to hold me back anymore.”

As for the whole drama with her sister’s modeling career, she says people can be hurtful. “It’s crazy. I’ve worked with Stephanie before and loved her; she was sweet to me,” she revealed. “I don’t know if she meant it in that mean way. But even so, it’s still hurtful. My sister and Kendall work their asses off. We’re all working hard.”
