Kanye West Apologized for Canceling on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke Twice in the Most Kanye West Way
“Kanye has been booked to do Carpool Karaoke now twice and both times something came up,” says Corden in the September issue of British GQ. “He’ll do it eventually. He wants to do it. [When he cancelled he sent] about three dozen white roses, of course. Arranged in the shape of a cube. What could be more Kanye than that?”
This seems to be West’s preferred mode of apology.
Corden has his sights set high for future guests on his Late Late Show viral segment even if an episode with West doesn’t work out. “[The dream would be] Beyoncé,” says Corden. “It would break the internet. She’s on tour right now. We’re working on it.”
The late night host says that he has lost 70 lbs by taking a dance class called PlyoJam three times per week. ” I want to lose another 30 lbs, maybe two stone by the time I’m 40 – that’s two years away,” he says before hypothesizing that success in Hollywood is “about class.”
“Look at my career… I mean, that’s quite a lot of good stuff! Douglas Booth has got a great career, he’s a brilliant actor, but he’s never going to encounter the sort of shit like I’ve had,” says Corden. “Nor will Tom Hiddleston. Nor Eddie Redmayne. Nor Benedict Cumberbatch. I fear acting is becoming an elitist sport and I worry about where that lands us culturally. I really do.”
Corden’s issue of British GQ hits newsstands on Aug. 4.
