Milo Ventimiglia Calls ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival ‘Classic Gilmore’
The TV star discusses returning to Star’s Hollow in the highly anticipated Netflix reboot.
On Gilmore Girls, Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) dated a trio of guys, but neither Dean (Jared Padalecki) nor Logan (Matt Czuchry) could compete with Jess’s (Milo Ventimiglia) angsty, bad boy charms. Now, with Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, fans will get to revisit all their favorite characters, including Jess, and see where they ended up. Ventimiglia spoke with FOX411 about the rare opportunity to return to a beloved role.
“It was putting on a suit, a jacket from the past that still fits well,” Ventimiglia said of filming the revival. “It was classic Gilmore.”
The 39-year-old explained that he has kept many of the friendships he formed while filming the original WB show, so when they started prepping the Netflix installments he was raring to be involved.
“It was a blast, it was a lot of fun,” he shared. “I’ve said it for a very long time—[producer] Dan [Sherman] and [creator] Amy [Sherman-Palladino] —I’ve stayed very, very close with them over the years, and for them to call me and say they are doing this and putting it together, I was absolutely going to show up.”
All four 90-minute episodes of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life arrives on Nov. 25, 2016.
