WATCH: Katy Perry Struggles with Her Parachute in ‘Rise’ Music Video

Katy Perry’s Olympic anthem is here.

The singer has released the music video for her song “Rise” just in time for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. In it, we see her running through desert rocks and floating in water as she struggles to get her parachute to launch. Perry eventually does take flight, literally rising off the ground.

Although she gets bloodied, rained on, suffocated by her own ‘chute, and nearly dies over a dozen times, she continues to try to find a way to rise, mirroring her lyrics. “Victory is in my veins,” she sings on the empowering tune, “I’ll fight it, I’ll fight it/ I will transform.”

“Now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite,” Perry, 31, said in a statement. “I know that together we can rise above the fear — in our country, and around the world. I can’t think of a better example than the Olympic athletes, as they gather in Rio with their strength and fearlessness, to remind us how we ALL can come together, with the resolve to be the best we can be. I hope this song can inspire us to heal, unite, and rise together.”

The release of her new music video kind of puts things in perspective as to why Orlando Bloom would decide to bare his penis for the paparazzi to take photos of…
