Watch Out! More ‘X-Files’ Could Be on Its Way

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny Reunite at ‘The X-Files’ Premiere
Over 20 years after the premiere of the original The X-Files, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson stunned on the red carpet.

Are you ready for another season of The X-Files? It looks like a Season 11 might be in the works.

According to TVLine, Dana Walden, chairman and CEO of the FOX Television Group, told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer tour on Monday that FOX definitely wants to do more with sci-fi series.

Walden said they would have filmed more than the short six-episode Season 10, which aired earlier this year, but scheduling with stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny and showrunner Chris Carter proved challenging.

“We would have liked to have done more [episodes] in the first place,” said Walden. “It was really the limitations of David and Gillian and Chris’ schedules. Gillian lives in the UK, David lives in New York and California, and we do the show in Vancouver. Chris lives up north. So it was just trying to coordinate a time where they all carve out a period to be in Vancouver.”

Walden said they now have more time to “plan” Season 11. “We’re in conversations that intentionally we could do more,” she said. “I don’t imagine it being a full season of The X-Files, but I would be really happy if we were able to get eight to 10 episodes.”
