The Theme for ‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Has Already Been Revealed

Apparently, the theme of American Horror Story’s upcoming season is sitting right under our very noses. According to FX Networks CEO John Landgraf, one of the many teasers recently released is about the actual forthcoming sixth season, while the rest have been purposefully shot to mislead fans.

The exec told reporters at Television Critics Association summer press tour on Tuesday (Aug. 9, 2016) that his marketing team “went out and created many more trailers than you’ve actually seen for hypothetical seasons of American Horror Story, in different genres, different places. One of them is accurate, and the others are all misdirects.”

“There is a theme and a setting and a place and time,” he confirmed, “but we’re not going to reveal it because we think it will be fun for the audience to have the surprise this year.”

Based on set photos, TMZ is reporting that Season 6 will revolve around the mystery of Roanoke, the 1590 North Carolina colony where 118 people mysteriously vanished without a sign of struggle or battle.

So far, Kathy Bates, Denis O’Hare, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson,Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson and Matt Bomer are all set to return. Lady Gaga, who won a Golden Globe for her performance on American Horror Story: Hotel, is also said to be back.

American Horror Story is slated to return on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. on FX.
