Tennis Star Andy Murray Reminds Interviewer That Women Win Gold, Too

Here’s another reason to love Andy Murray.

The tennis star put BBC’s John Inverdale in his place after he appeared to forget that women exist, too. But how could anyone forget about Venus and Serena Williamsachievements? Well, while interviewing Murray — the first male athlete to win two Olympic gold tennis medals — Inverdale incorrectly declared him the first “person” to win.

“Venus and Serena have won four each,” the Olympic champion fired back. Murray defeated Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro for his second straight gold in Olympic tennis on Sunday night (Aug. 14, 2016), but also won the fight against sexism in sports.

Even J.K. Rowling thinks Murray is pretty great.
