Jonah Hill Was Hospitalized for Snorting Fake Cocaine During ‘Wolf of Wall Street’

Jonah Hill admits he was hospitalized after overdosing on fake cocaine while filming Wolf of Wall Street.

“I had to be hospitalized,” the War Dogs actor revealed to Bill Simmons on Any Given Wednesday. “If you ingest that much matter into your lungs you’ll get very sick, and we were literally doing fake coke for, like, seven months, every day.”

Hill, who portrayed Donnie Azoff alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2013 Martin Scorsese film, developed bronchitis for three weeks as a result of the fake drug. “I never had more vitamin D in my entire life; I could have lifted a car over my f-king head,” Hill added.

He also discussed what it was like to pretend to be on drugs in War Dogs, a film about the bizarre real life story of BFFs Efraim Diveroli and David Packouz. “I’ll make a playlist for every scene, so I’ll try to make, like, music that (made me feel) jittery and chaotic … and then just drink a ton of coffee and Red Bull,” he said.
