The Kardashians Accused of ‘Deceptive Marketing’ as Kim Kardashian Uses a Decoy to Trick Paparazzi

The Kardashians are in a bit of legal trouble, and it’s all because of Instagram.

Page Six reports that Truth in Advertising Inc. has sent momager, Kris Jenner a letter accusing the Kardashian/Jenner family of engaging in “deceptive marketing campaigns.” After reviewing the accounts of Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé Kardashian as well as, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Truth in Advertising Inc. found,  “a plethora of posts that do not clearly or conspicuously disclose their relationships with the companies being promoted in the posts as is required by federal law.”

The company had threatened to take legal action and notify the Federal Trade Commission if all of the posts are not “fully corrected” by Wednesday (Aug. 24, 2016). It seems the Kardashian/Jenner family is taking this warning seriously, as they’ve already begun to add the appropriate language to their various sponsored posts.

But their marketing campaigns aren’t the only thing “deceptive” about the family. While the Kardashian/Jenners were being called out by the Truth in Advertising Inc., Kim opted to use a decoy to throw the paparazzi off her trail as she vacationed in Punta Mita, Mexico. The dark haired lookalike was seen tanning at the same vacation home with Kim’s assistant Steph Shep and model Jasmine Sanders.
