WATCH: Team USA Gymnast Laurie Hernandez Gets a Surprise from Fave ‘The Voice’ Coach Adam Levine
After claiming both a gold and a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Games in Rio, gymnast Laurie Hernandez sat down with Ryan Seacrest to chat about how the experience has effected her. Her interview also featured a surprise video from none other than The Voice coach Adam Levine, a favorite of Hernandez’s.
First, Seacrest asked her which coach she likes best on The Voice, to which she replied: “So Adam keeps winning so I like Adam because of that. But Christina [Aguilera] is awesome even when I was younger just in the gym my coach would put on a Christina CD and we would listen to her the whole time.”
As you probably know, Efron made his Olympic fandom known by flying to Rio to meet with the Final Five (and sending the athletes into a flutter). Well, Seacrest said it’s time for someone else to get a chance to show their adoration for the Olympians competing in the games; then he told Hernandez he has a special message from someone she knows.
“What’s up, Laurie?,” Adam says in the clip. “This is Adam Levine, just wanted to say ‘Hello, congratulations.’ You’re kicking butt out there, and we’ve been watching you from the States. Excellent work.”
As you can imagine, Laurie loses her composure, and it’s completely adorable.
